Where to work for a day, from free reading rooms to 24-hour lobbies.

Working from New York
New York has no shortage of cafés, but few let you stay all day. Hotel lobbies and reading rooms fill the gap, and several are open late or around the clock.
Day passes are expensive, from $30 in Brooklyn to $45 in SoHo, but they include coffee and booths for calls. Brooklyn is calmer and cheaper, Manhattan faster and busier. Always carry a charger: outlets are the city’s rarest resource.
